The mission of the Neola Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is to protect the lives, property, and well-being of everyone who lives, works, and travels within our service area.
Through fire suppression, emergency medical response, vehicle rescue and extrication, public education, and mutual-aid cooperation, our trained volunteers provide timely, professional, and compassionate emergency services to the City of Neola, surrounding rural areas, and motorists traveling through our Interstate 80 corridor.
Why It Matters
Our volunteer fire department is the community's primary line of defense, making reliable equipment a critical necessity. Proper turnout gear and apparatus do more than protect our members from extreme heat and toxic smoke; they enable volunteers to enter hazardous environments safely and save lives. Up-to-date tools ensure operational readiness and the rapid intervention residents depend on.
The Challenges
Maintaining this readiness presents a severe financial burden for a volunteer-led agency. Modern, compliant safety gear is exceptionally expensive, heavily straining a budget reliant on fundraising and limited local funds. Because gear must be regularly replaced to protect against wear and carcinogens, these costs are continuous, forcing the department to navigate tight budgets to avoid relying on aging equipment.

The City of Neola contracts with the Quick Med Claims company for our EMS services. Recently, this company was bought by Digitech company. Your bill may have either logo.
